8tH GRADE

I have grown so much this year. It is hard to narrow down, but I think I have grown the most in Inquiry. I think this because in every class I feel like I understand more. I think this is because I asked questions. I have asked questions in every class, but it wasn’t always this way. At first I had always had questions, I was just too scared to ask. I realized that I was missing information so I decided to start asking more questions. This was when my growth took off. I remember that this started during a science project. The project was over plate tectonics. I had never learned anything about this before. Other kids in my class had gone over it in elementary school. I was behind, and very confused. I had to ask questions about how plates are moving and why they are moving so that I could understand as much as my classmates did. Another time was in History class. I had to take notes and before I was incredibly bad at it. I couldn’t learn from taking notes. I started writing questions in my notes and get the answers later. This helped me grow in asking questions. On the other end of the spectrum we have persistence. I need to grow in persistence because now, I would rather give up then do any hard work. This is going to make me unsuccessful because in the future, like high school or college, if I give up I will fail. It is important that I don’t fail because I want to be successful.
