How I Struggled

Math was an incredibly hard subject for me this year. When we started the grid project, I fell behind rather quickly because of my effort. The grid project is where we had several tasks on a piece of paper that looked like a grid and we had to complete those tasks in order so that we can move up to the next level. After every task we had to take a test. We did this on our own time in class over the course of a few months. I kept putting off the assignments that I needed to get done, causing me to not learn very much like I needed to. I prevented myself from having the best understanding possible because of my fixed mindset. Even to this day I still have a hard time in math because of the times at the beginning of the year when I didn't try my best to understand. If I could go back and do it all again I would pay attention years earlier in sixth and seventh grade so that I would be able to build that foundation for this year. I quickly realized that math is something you need to put your whole brain towards if you want to have a greater understanding of the concepts. I wasn't able to overcome this struggle because I didn't build the foundation needed to understand math completely.
